I sometimes wish there were 3 of me, one to work, one to stay home and attempt being a domestic goddess, one to monitor the kids full time and maybe wait on the man of the house in a 50’s housewife style (naaah, that is so not me) Wait, I want another one of me too, one to do the things I never find the time to do anymore, like update this and my other blogs. Sigh.
Anyway, I’m hoping (again) that this post marks another “beginning” for this blog. Lord knows, I’ve some posts on draft for the longest time but I never seem to get around finishing them. I just might still try to go back to them and do so.
Enough rambling from me (thank you for indulging me). For my “beginning” post, I’d like to share how I began today…with a smoothie. I have been hearing about smoothies and juicing and how good these are, so I decided to try my hand. Since I don’t have a juicer yet, I’ve decided to try smoothies first since I do have a reliable blender. This is what I came up with, using whatever I could find in my refrigerator.
Pear Banana Prune Smoothie
– 1 pear
– 1 banana
– prune juice
1. Peel and remove the core of the pear. Slice in quarters and put in blender.
2. Peel banana and remove unwanted areas of bananas. (I do not like the too-soft, bruised spots on the bananas). Put in blender.
3. Add prune juice until the 2 cup line on the blender.
4. Turn on blender at highest setting until all the ingredients are blended well.
This made approximately 2-3 servings.
